Strongway Multi Gyms
Who makes Strongway multi gyms?
Strongway Gym Supplies is the trading name of M Walia Ltd, a family business with an office and warehouse in Coventry. By its own account it was set up during COVID, when the founders struggled to buy home gym equipment online. It now sells smith machines, power cages, benches, dumbbells, weight plates, flooring and home gym package deals, both on strongway.co.uk and through Amazon UK.
It is a seller with its own range rather than a long-established gym manufacturer, so judge each machine on its published specs: stack weight, frame rating, footprint and what's in the box. On Trustpilot the company had over 700 reviews in October 2026, mostly praising build quality and fast delivery, with the usual complaints for heavy kit: big, heavy boxes and instructions that could be clearer.
The Strongway multi gym range compared
These are the brand's own published figures for each model. Heights matter most in a garage or loft, so check them against your ceiling before you order.

| Multi Gym with Weights | 72kg | 250kg | 210 x 105 x 165cm | High/low pulley, dual-action chest station, preacher pad, butterfly, leg curl |
| Multi Gym with leg press | 72kg or 100kg | 250kg | 205 x 100 x 190cm | As above plus a leg press |
| Multi Gym Smith Machine | 177kg (2 x 88.5kg) | 350kg | 209 x 196 x 156cm (frame 118cm wide) | Smith bar, dual cable pulley system, pull-up bar, dip station |
| PREMIUM Smith Machine | 265.5kg (3 x 88.5kg) | 450kg | 209 x 196 x 156cm | As above plus a third (rear) stack for lat pulldowns |

| ULTIMATE Smith Machine | 265.5kg (3 x 88.5kg) | 450kg | 222.5 x 215 x 170cm | The same layout with three weight stacks |

| Crossover with Weights | 75kg | - | 222 x 90 x 100cm | 11 positions, pull-up bar, free-standing |
| Wall Mounted Crossover | Weight plates | 250kg rating | 201 x 63cm | 18 positions, 4 Olympic bullhorns |
The ULTIMATE's spec list also quotes 350kg in one place, so treat the higher figure as the headline and ask the seller if you need the exact rating.

Strongway multi gym station or smith machine?
The multi gym station
The classic model is a single-stack, pin-loaded machine. You sit on one padded, adjustable seat and move between the chest press, pec deck, butterfly, preacher pad, leg station and the high and low pulleys. There are no weight plates to load and nothing to rack, so it is the easiest home gym kit for beginners and for households where several people train. At roughly 1m wide it is the most compact model in the range. If floor space is tight, our compact multi gyms cover similar machines from other brands.
The multi gym smith machine
A Strongway multi gym smith machine wraps a guided barbell, two cable towers and a pull-up bar into one sturdy steel frame. You get squats and presses on the smith bar, a dual cable pulley system for flyes, rows and triceps work, a dip station and, on most models, a landmine attachment for rotational lifts. It suits people who want heavier compound lifts at home without a spotter, since the barbell runs on fixed rails with safety bars to catch it. Our home smith machines page compares these with other brands.
Cable towers and the half rack
If you already own a bench and an Olympic barbell, one of the cable towers or the half power rack adds cable training to your home gym for less space. The wall mounted model takes up only 63cm of wall, while the free-standing towers need no drilling. See our cable crossover machines for more options.

How heavy is a Strongway weight stack in practice?
Each stack on the dual-stack models has 16 plates: a 3kg top plate and fifteen 5.7kg plates. That gives you 5.7kg jumps, which suit most exercises, though small muscles like shoulders may want a smaller step.
The side towers use a 2:1 cable ratio. That means the handle travels twice as far as the stack and you feel about half the pinned weight, so a full 88.5kg stack feels close to 44kg per handle. That's normal on functional trainers and makes the cables smooth and quick for flyes and single-arm work. On the PREMIUM, the rear lat pulldown stack runs at 1:1, so it feels its full weight. If you expect to outgrow the 72kg single-stack machine, compare it with our 90kg multi gyms.
Check your space before you buy
- Ceiling height: the standard smith machine is 209cm tall and the ELITE and ULTIMATE are 222.5cm. Allow extra headroom for pull-ups. One reviewer had to notch a non-structural ceiling beam to fit theirs; another fitted the PREMIUM in a garden room with a 2.5m limit.
- Width: the smith bar sticks out past the frame, so the 118cm-wide frame needs 196cm of room, and the 130cm-wide frame of the taller models needs 215cm.
- Working room: leave space in front of the cable towers for lunges and crossovers, and around the barbell for loading weight plates.
- Floor: a full home gym station weighs well over 100kg before plates (144kg for the 72kg model). Use rubber gym flooring on a solid, level surface.
What's included, and what isn't
The smith rigs come with a long list of attachments: two single stirrup attachments, a straight bar attachment, a long bar, a triceps rope attachment, an ankle strap, a seated row attachment, a row footplate, the landmine attachment, dip station handles, J-hooks and two safety bars. The ELITE swaps the landmine and footplate for a lat pulldown bar and a leg press attachment. The smith bar itself weighs 5.3kg.
What you don't get is a weight bench, a separate Olympic barbell or any Olympic weight plates for the smith bar. Strongway sells each machine as a package with a bench, barbell and weight plates, and other package options add hex or adjustable dumbbells. If you'd rather build your own package, our weight bench multi gyms and bench press multi gyms show machines and benches that pair well.

Delivery, assembly and warranty
Strongway offers free delivery to mainland UK and aims for 3-5 working days, using couriers such as DPD and FedEx. Big machines arrive in several boxes, sometimes over two days. One buyer received nine parcels of up to 50kg each from a one-person delivery, so have someone to help unload.
There's no installation service. Owners typically report 4-5 hours to build a smith machine with two people and basic tools, and the cable routing is the fiddly part. Lay the parts out by box and read the cable diagrams before you start. Machines carry a 12-month warranty from Strongway, and unwanted items can go back within 30 days at your own cost. The Strongway FAQs cover delivery and returns in full, and your consumer rights on gov.uk still apply on top of the warranty.
Strongway vs other multi gym brands
The brand's strength is weight for money: dual 88.5kg stacks and a 350kg-plus frame rating are more than most home gyms offer. The trade-offs are size, a newer brand with fewer long-term owner reviews, and assembly that takes patience. If you'd prefer a long-established name with plenty of reviews, compare our Marcy multi gyms. For leg-focused training, our leg extension machines add a dedicated station.
Getting a full body workout from your multi gym
The NHS physical activity guidelines recommend strength training that works all the major muscle groups on at least 2 days a week. One home gym station covers every one:
- Legs: smith squats, leg press or leg curls, cable kickbacks with the ankle strap.
- Chest: smith bar presses on a bench, the chest station or cable flyes.
- Back: lat pulldown, seated cable row, pull-ups and landmine rows.
- Shoulders and arms: cable lateral raises, preacher curls, triceps pushdowns and dips.
- Core: cable woodchops, Pallof presses and hanging knee raises.
Start light, learn each movement on the guided bar or cables, and add one 5.7kg plate at a time.
Strongway multi gym FAQs
Is Strongway a good brand?
For the money, its machines are well specified: big weight stacks, high frame ratings and lots of attachments. Reviews mostly praise how sturdy they are and fast delivery. Expect a long build and check the dimensions carefully.
Where is Strongway based?
Strongway Gym Supplies (M Walia Ltd) is a UK company with its office and warehouse in Coventry.
Does the Strongway smith machine come with weight plates?
It comes with its weight stacks (177kg or 265.5kg) and a 5.3kg smith bar, but not Olympic weight plates for the bar, a bench or a separate barbell. Those come in a package or separately.
Do I need to bolt it down?
The free-standing rigs and cable towers don't need drilling, and owners of the PREMIUM report it is stable without fixing. The wall mounted crossover must be fixed to a solid wall with the supplied fixings.
How long does assembly take?
Plan on most of a day. Owners report around 4-5 hours for a smith machine with two people; the single-stack multi gym is quicker.
Why does the cable feel lighter than the stack?
The side towers use a 2:1 cable ratio, so you feel roughly half the pinned weight at the handle.
